Dear Ronnefeldt Customer,
Media reports on the disaster in the Fukushima nuclear plant show that the situation remains uncertain with unforeseeable consequences. First and foremost, our deep sympathy go out to the people there who have lost their homes, their existence and in the worst case their lives through the natural disaster and nuclear crisis. Japan will continue to preoccupy us, our partners, suppliers and customers for some time.
We have decided at present – until further notice – to no longer import tea from Japan. We have based our decision on the situation in the country, the media reports and our customers' concerns.
We highly regret we have had to make this move, since Japanese green teas are especially popular. Nevertheless, we have come to this decision because we do not want to take any risks whatsoever. We are sure that this decision is the right one at this moment in time, since reports of radiation-tainted food in and outside Japan simply refuse to fade away.
We are, however, still in a position to be able to supply you with Japanese tea from the 2010 harvest. Our Japan teas Kabusecha, Japan Gyokuro, Japan Genmaicha as well as the specialities Kukicha and Kokeicha are of excellent quality.
We would also like to remind you that the Ronnefeldt tea assortment focuses mainly on teas from India, China, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Kenya and Taiwan.
We are unfortunately unable to foresee when the situation in Japan will be resolved. When this happens, we will then carefully examine whether we can include Japanese tea in our range again. There is one thing you can be sure of: Teehaus Ronnefeldt offers you only first-class quality tea.
This means you can serve Ronnefeldt tea to your guests and customers with a good conscience and enjoy them with the greatest of pleasure yourself.
Yours sincerely,
Teehaus Ronnefeldt
